Shattuck Partners strives to improve the quality of life of patients at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, an important public health hospital in Boston, by funding or providing programming and supplemental support services. As an important public health hospital, the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital is the “hospital of hope” for thousands of people across the Commonwealth who seek recovery from complex medical situations and difficult life circumstances. This fully accredited teaching hospital provides compassionate medical care and a network of important services, but the funding doesn’t stretch far enough to provide all of the additional support these vulnerable, underserved women and men so desperately need. This is where Shattuck Partners steps in, funding and providing vocational rehabilitation, arts programming, recreational activities and therapeutic support for patients of the Shattuck Hospital. We collaborate with hospital staff to identify patient-focused needs the hospital is unable to meet, and we work to meet those needs.
