Family Medicine Residency Program

Northeast Colorado Regional EMS & Trauma Advisory Council (NCRETAC) supports the coordination, development, and sustainability of emergency medical and trauma services across rural and frontier Northeast Colorado. As one of Colorado’s designated Regional EMS & Trauma Advisory Councils (RETACs), NCRETAC brings together EMS agencies, hospitals, medical directors, public health, emergency management, and community partners to strengthen the regional system of care—from prevention and preparedness to prehospital response and trauma recovery. Our work focuses on: • Regional coordination and collaboration • EMS and trauma system planning and performance improvement • Education, training, and professional development • Grant support and fiscal stewardship • Clinical governance, data-informed decision-making, and policy alignment • Rural and frontier EMS sustainability NCRETAC serves as both a convener and a resource—helping local agencies navigate complex clinical, operational, regulatory, and funding environments while keeping patient care and provider safety at the center of the system. While our statutory responsibility is regional, we regularly engage at the state and national level, contributing to conversations on EMS governance, workforce development, trauma systems, and patient access to care. We believe strong local systems, informed by clear policy and collaboration, are essential to resilient emergency care everywhere.
