The Philadelphia Veterans House is a non-profit, transitional housing facility for homeless veterans located in Philadelphia just blocks from the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center. Our mission is simple. We give homeless veterans a chance to start over and become productive members of society. This is done by using tools provided by the military to enable our veterans to find jobs and secure permanent housing. Our program provides them with the cultural capital necessary to do just that; and, reinvigorates the work ethic and discipline they had while serving our nation. Providing home-cooked meals, a family-style atmosphere, individualized case management, mental health counseling, chaplain services and financial counseling in combination with the camaraderie that is ever-present, we are able to help our veterans build the foundation they need for a successful future. Equipping our troopers for the challenges of the real world, we seek to rid them of the dependency and entitlement mindsets that have marred so many lives. PVH missions like Operation Airdrop, Operation Able Assist and our Holiday Open House program support homeless veterans throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding communities. We are proud of our veterans, and the opportunities we provide. We encourage all to join us in serving those who have served America.
