Part of the Desert Care Network, Desert Regional Medical Center is a 385-bed tertiary acute care hospital located in Palm Springs. The hospital is home to the Coachella Valley’s only designated trauma center and the region's only intensive care unit for newborns. Desert Regional Medical Center offers a comprehensive array of services that includes: Emergency/Trauma Services, Comprehensive Cancer Center, Institute of Clinical Orthopedics and Neurosciences, Center for Weight Management, El Mirador Imaging Center and inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services. In addition, Desert Regional has expanded outpatient services to the La Quinta Medical Center at 47647 Caleo Bay, with satellite offices of the Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Advanced Wound Healing Center and La Quinta Imaging. Desert Regional Medical Center has received advanced certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center through DNV-GL, and advanced certification for Hip and Knee Replacement and Spine Surgery through The Joint Commission. Desert Regional Medical Center is operated by Tenet Healthcare Corp under a lease from the Desert Healthcare District. Desert Care Network includes three acute care hospitals -- Desert Regional Medical Center, JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio CA, and Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree CA.
