LinkedInAbout
A home for independent thinkers, The University of Buckingham is ranked Top 5 for Lecturers & Teaching Quality and Top 10 for Student Support (Whatuni Student Choice Awards, 2025). We have always done things differently at Buckingham. Back in 1983, we became the first University to introduce two-year degrees and have been perfecting them ever since. Buckingham is one of the few universities in the UK that offers September and January start dates for almost all courses. We believe in academic excellence, delivered at pace in an independent and free-thinking environment. We were founded on a vision of academic freedom and our belief in the importance of passing these traditions on to future generations. Our students form a thriving community of independent thinkers from countries all over the world. Our University is proudly independent and not-for-profit, and offer courses in Allied Health, Business, Computing, Education, Humanities, Law, Medicine, Psychology and Security and Intelligence. Buckingham also launched the UK’s first private Medical School, which secured General Medical Council (GMC) accreditation. The GMC commended us for our ‘excellent professional, academic and pastoral support that extends throughout the University and clinical learning environments’. At Buckingham, students receive an individualised and supportive learning experience, focused on small tutorials and seminars, where academics and students can engage in authentic dialogue and test their ideas. We believe in a high-quality education, delivered with passion and focus on imparting useful and relevant knowledge. Our beautiful riverside campus in Buckingham is only 20 minutes from Milton Keynes Central Station and a short drive from Bicester, Aylesbury, Banbury and Northampton. There is free parking on-site, and we are within easy reach of London and Oxford.
