With seven campuses - four in Uberlândia (MG), one in Ituiutaba (MG), one in Monte Carmelo (MG) and one in Patos de Minas (MG) - UFU is the main reference center in science and technology of a large region of Central Brazil, which includes the Triângulo Mineiro, Alto Paranaíba, the northwest and parts of northern Minas, the south and southwest of Goiás, the north of São Paulo and the east of Mato Grosso do Sul and Mato Grosso . UFU possess autonomy didactic-scientific, administrative and financial and patrimonial management, under the terms of the law. Its organization and functioning are governed by the federal legislation, by its Statute, General Rules and by complementary norms.
