The University of Gurupi (UnirG) is a public higher education institution located in the municipality of Gurupi, in the southern region of the state of Tocantins. Maintained and represented by UnirG - an entity governed by public law, which has the same legal rule as that granted to municipalities. UnirG is the largest higher education institution in southern Tocantins, with approximately 5100 students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In addition, it is also the fourth largest public budget in the state, besides being one of the largest employer institutions of Tocantins, currently having 392 teachers and 553 employees, including administrative technicians and interns. Consisting of two campuses, Campus I located in Acacia Park and Campus II located in the Central Sector, both in Gurupi, UnirG offers teaching, research and extension in the most diverse areas of human knowledge.
